Abstract
Nanotechnology applications play a new and important role in biology mainly due to the unique properties of nanomaterials, such as specificity, biocompatibility, water solubility, and low cytotoxicity. Using quantum dots can improve the sensitivity of stem cell images and track stem cells or cancer cells in the in vivo and in vitro culture systems. Stem cells are characterized by their ability to undergo asymmetric division to form new stem cells or differentiate into other cells. The main purpose of applying nanotechnology in stem cell biology is to achieve early diagnosis of diseases, improve the sensitivity of diagnostic results, precisely control the release mechanism for drug delivery, and use targeted therapy to improve therapeutic effects. The understanding of stem cells in various fields has been deepening. So, scientists can explore the interaction mechanism between biomedical materials and stem cells at the nanoscale with the assistance of innovative nanotechnology and develop a novel nanomaterials-based culture system for culturing and regulating stem cells.
