Abstract
Recently, the scientific studies of protected area in the last decades are
more and more, especially the studies based on the viewpoints of Landscape
Ecology. The trend shows that the researches about protected area aren’t
restricted to organisms.
In Taiwan, there are many articles about Landscape Ecology. In this study,
we try to find out the core concepts of Landscape Ecology. And we’ll apply the
concepts to discuss how to do the planning of protected area system.
According to general system theory and ecosystem theory, to protect the
area which could maintain the significant “landscape function” is the most
important object for protected areas.
In the study, we try to apply the concepts of landscape structure and
landscape function on the regional scale in order to find out the ecosystems
that could maintain the significant “landscape function”. Based on the theory of
Bioregion, we’ll apply the concepts of buffer zone and corridors to connect the
protected areas.
