Abstract
A probabilistic treatment is given for the reversible adsorption of particles to solid surfaces. Here, the particles are defined as the entities which are relatively small compared with the surfaces. Based on the assumption that each entity behaves independently, the number of adsorbed entities is found to have a binominal distribution. The present model is capable of describing both the time dependence of the macroscopic behavior of the adsorption and its fluctuating characteristic. © 1988.
