Abstract
The research reports the controversial process of formulating the 2006 guidelines of senior high school history textbooks in Taiwan society. It is to examine if and how the political power interfered the formulation, as well as the thoughts and ideologies within people involved in the process. The research interviewed 29 related persons.
The report finds that the political power indeed interferes with the guidelines. Besides, the guideline makers’ explanation of the design ideas and the textbook examiners’ principles are criticized to be full of political ideology and served for political attempt.
