Abstract
A novel reflectarray unit cell formed by a pair of crossed dipoles with split rings for dual- and circular-polarization applications based on [1] is presented. The structure provides not only independent control of the two orthogonal polarizations, but also a phase variation range over 360 degrees with acceptable loss (below 1 dB and 1.25 dB) in each polarization. An equivalent circuit is also provided along with the correspondence between circuit elements and the unit cell structure, providing physical insight into the reflection characteristic and facilitating the overall design process. ? 2021 Taiwan Microwave Association.
