Abstract
This paper proposes a hybrid dielectric waveguide transmitarray (HDWT) as an add-on to enhance gain of traditional arrays. It combines the advantages of both transmitarray and lens technologies to improve gain of radiating beams from boresight up to 30° scan angles. The design of HDWT follows a multifocal approach. A prototype of HDWT is manufactured and gain improvements for boresight and 30° are measured to be about 6.9 dBi and 2.8 dBi, respectively for an patch array as a feeding device.
