Abstract
A fully integrated 24-GHz low power CMOS divide-by-4 ring-type injection-locked frequency divider (ILFD) has been designed, fabricated, and measured with the standard bulk 0.13-μm CMOS technology. The measurement results show that the input locking range is greater than 5 GHz (> 20%) at an input power of 0-dBm while consuming only 6 mW with a 1.2-V supply voltage. In addition to the good performance, this ring-type ILFD with in-phase injection is quite simple, small, and no need of any extra controls, making it suitable for integration into a phase-locked loop (PLL) system.
