Abstract
Correlative precoders have been proposed for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) to provide either improved spectral sidelobe suppression, which yields very compact signal spectrum, or enhanced intercarrier interference (ICI) self-cancelation, which renders robustness against carrier frequency offset (CFO). However, these signaling features are commonly traded off by increasing the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the correlatively precoded waveform and not accomplished concurrently. To overcome this shortcoming, new correlative precoders are designed in this paper to endow correlatively precoded OFDM waveforms with reduced PAPR while preserving enhanced ICI self-cancelation or improved spectral sidelobe suppression, either respectively or jointly. Numerical results show that correlative precoders can be properly designed to achieve joint performance characteristics in PAPR reduction, spectral sidelobe suppression, and ICI self-cancelation.
