Abstract
Atmospheric pressure plasma jets (APPJs) are used for simultaneous TiO2 nanoporous photoanode sintering and particulate scattering layer deposition for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The cell efficiency is improved by the administration of the scattering layer. The DSSC with a particulate TiO2 layer deposited for 120 s with a carrier gas of 0.5 slm flow rate exhibits the best cell efficiency of 7.61%, in comparison to that of 6.91% for the reference counterpart without a scattering layer. The cell efficiency increases with the thickness of the scattering layer before it levels off.
