Abstract
In recent years the development of transmission /disequilibrium test (TDT) in linkage analysis has been focused on how to extract haplotype similarity information from multiple closely linked marker. Haplotype sharing idea is the major method to extract such a type of information. In this thesis, following the methods of Tzeng et al.(2003) and Yu et al.(2005), we propose to use the run statistic to extract similarity information in transmitted haplotypes and non-transmitted haplotypes of case–parent tetrad families. Permutation test is used for test of association between the disease and the markers. The simulation results show that our method has higher power performaces than those of Yu et al.(2005) in some situations.
