Abstract
This paper is focused on investigating the meaning of colors in Souseki Natsume’s “ early trilogy”. There are many studies written about the words of colors in Souseki’s novels and many brilliant points in these studies. However, most of the studies are limited to individual novel and do not have a comprehensively analysis of all novels. Therefore, this paper will expand the range of research, which focused on the symbolisms of color of “red”, “blue”, and “white”, and observing the details of relationships and variety between the colors and discussing the relationship between mind worlds of characters and story plot based on Souseki Natsume’s “early trilogy”.
At last, the writer connects the story of Lotus Sutra and “early trilogy”, from structure of “reality - natural -ideal world” to discover the plot of “red-blue-whie”.
