Abstract
Global trade liberation slashes the tariff between countries, and gradually eliminates non-tariff barriers. In addition, that it increases the liquidity speed of production factors such as labor, capital, raw materials and equipment optimizes the world trade and utilizes resources more efficiently. However the differences in culture, politics, requirements of issues between nations lead to the failure of WTO multi-frame negotiation and then pushes and strengthens the form of trend of regional economic integration. Although regional integration is contributive to the trade liberation that is the reason why it is legally permitted under the framework of WTO, it inevitably brings negative impacts to those excluded from regional integration like trade diversion and the loss of foreign direct investment. Taiwan is export-oriented economy, the influence described above is much more huge. Especially facing the rise and development of China, due to unique political relationship, Taiwan is the first to be crowded out. To be in such bad situation, Taiwan needs to try to turn the crisis into the opportunity. The main themes of this thesis can be categorized into two parts:1. Elaborating the theory of regional economic integration and the legal framework of the global economic law;comparing the examples of three FTAs, EU、NAFTA and AFTA and taking the comparison as the guide when Taiwan developing its trade relationship with other countries; 2. Facing regional economic integration-concrete respondent policies and strategies in Taiwan.
