Abstract
Cylindrical display technology has recently become increasing attention for designing an interactive display system. In the previous work, we had develop a system called i-m-Top[1], which is a multi-touch and multi-resolution display technique on planar display. I-m-Top system proposed a convenient and useful approach to automatically calibrate the projectors using a color camera, to eliminate keystone and misalignment problems. Similar to this system is I-m-Tube, which is a system to realize an unobstructed 900 multi-resolution information display and multi-touch interaction. In this paper, we want to project image to the screen that has an effect like wallpapering the image on the screen. This system also making it possible to create an intuitive and natural context for multi-user interaction with multimedia content displayed on the cylindrical surface by touch. Therefore I-m-Tube design meets the following concerns : (1) The effect of wallpapering image on cylindrical screen, (2) Automatically calibrate the projectors, and (3) Displaying high resolution at the user’s interesting area. We proposed a convenient and useful approach to automatically calibrate the projector using a color camera, to help the projector eliminate both keystone and misalignment problem.
