Abstract
Backgroundeft ventricular concentric remodeling is a condition of the early cardiovascular disease, and it is associated with markedly increased risk for cardiovascular disease morbidity and mortality. However, the study about exploring the risk factors for left ventricular concentric remodeling in general population was not well established.bjectivehe aim of the present study is to evaluate the independent risk factors for left ventricular concentric remodeling in general population and expect to provide more information and welfare for prevention, control, treatment and healthcare of cardiovascular disease. Besides to reduce cardiovascular disease morbidity and enhance the health and quality of life of citizens, on the other hand hope to reduce the huge medical expenses for cardiovascular disease.ethodsn this study, 1265 consecutive subjects were enrolled in a Health Evaluation Center-based population study (since October 1, 2005 to November 30, 2008). Data including baseline characteristics, physical examination, total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), homocysteine, N-terminal prohormone brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), echocardiography were all collected and evaluated.esultsn this study found that total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), homocysteine, N-terminal prohormone brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), and metabolic syndrome (MS) were the independent risk factors for left ventricular concentric remodeling in general population. And people with un-normal total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, homocysteine, N-terminal prohormone brain natriuretic peptide, and people with metabolic syndrome had 1.5-fold to 2.5-fold increased risk for morbidity of cardiovascular disease.onclusionsook forward to the results of this study for clinical assessment of people suffering in left ventricular concentric remodeling of the early intervention help the treatment to enhance the health of people, reduce risk for morbidity of cardiovascular disease and the medical expenses causing of cardiovascular disease.
