Abstract
Effect of the size-dependent residence time distribution or classified product removal on the transient behavior of a continuous mixed suspension, mixed product removal crystallizer has been investigated by modeling and simulating it stochastically. It has been shown that a linear increase in the residence time with the increase in crystal size results in an upward curvature in its distribution at its lower end; if the residence time of a crystal is inversely proportional to its size, a downward curvature at the lower end of its distribution is predicted.
