Abstract
Transmit beamforming is effective in the performance enhancement of multiple-input single-output orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (MISO-OFDM) systems. However, the optimal subcarrier-wise beamforming scheme requires a considerable amount of subcarrier information fedback from the receiver over nonreciprocal channels. In this paper, a new subband beamforming scheme is proposed for MISO-OFDM systems to provide the average channel capacity performance comparable to subcarrier-wise beamforming scheme and outperform remarkably conventional interpolation beamforming scheme using the same subband grouping, while requiring much less amount of feedback overhead and computation complexity for computing beamforming coefficients.
