Abstract
There are two types of data structures for linkage disequilibrium, family data and population data. Testing linkage disequilibrium using the family data should be more powerful than population data if the genetic markers and disease-susceptibility locus were linkage. And there are two types of the family data, triad families and pedigrees. Naturally, testing linkage in the pedigrees should be more powerful since there is at least one affected child and we can get more information from a pedigree. Based on the transmission disequilibrium test (TDT) many authors developed linkage testing in different data structures even to general pedigrees, one of these statistics is pedigree disequilibrium test (PDT). In this study we constructed two statistics which are more powerful and different from PDT statistic for testing linkage disequilibrium in pedigrees.
