Abstract
MPEG-4, which is the next-generation
international multimedia communication
standard, is introduced in last two years
reports. We performed the computational
analysis for video decoding part, and
proposed architectures for shape decoding
and bitstream parsing modules with chip
implementation and performance evaluation.
In this report, a complete MPEG-4
video decoding system is constructed. It
provides general decoding capability by
integrating an embedded bitstream processor,
and is suitable for wireless communication
environment with error resilience decoding
functions.
