Abstract
In this paper, we evaluate the end-to-end throughput of CDMA-based Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) with long-thin topologies using theoretical models. In order to minimize the multiple access interference (MAI) and improve the throughput, a power allocation scheme is required. Instead of using sophisticated power allocation algorithms, which require the knowledge of path losses between all pairs of nodes in the network, a simple heuristic power allocation scheme is proposed and used in this paper. It has been found that in fading environments, our scheme results in better throughput performance and is easy and feasible to be implemented. © 2012 IEEE.
