Abstract
This article aims at establishing an
information requirement module of
executive quality information system (EQIS)
through the discussion of the leadership role
of top executives and information
requirements in the implementation process
of Total Quality Management (TQM). On
the other hand, it also puts much emphasis
on constructing a top executive decision
support system dedicated to facilitate top
executives for embarking on decision
making and participate in corporate
TQM-related activities.
The primary contributions of this article
are: (1) Summarizing key success factors for
effectively introducing TQM to enhance
corporate competitive advantage through
benchmarking and analyzing best practices;
(2) Utilizing corporate quality consensus
(CQC) as a measuring mechanism to
investigate TQM perception and
self-diagnosis of corporate management
level; (3) Proposing a generic EQIS
information requirement module for
enhancing corporate competitive advantage.
Thus, it can be regarded as a diagnostic tool
for measuring managerial performance. It all
boils down to this, the finding of this article
can be exerted to support top executives to
lead and direct corporate TQM activities, to
strengthen the company’s competitive
advantage, and to reasonably acquire the
National Quality Award.
