Abstract
This thesis focuses on methods for Device-to-device (D2D) discovery resource allocation. D2D technology has recently drawn extensive attentions due to the ability to enable proximity services and offload network traffic.
D2D discovery procedure before direct communication is indispensable for the efficiency of setting up connection. An appropriate resource allocation for D2D discovery is needed in order to discover the UEs in proximity in a power efficient manner. In this thesis, a resource allocation algorithm for D2D discovery among devices participating D2D discovery based on frequency hopping is proposed. Computer simulations are conducted to compare with other existing methods. The results show that our proposed method outperforms all methods in the current literatures by selecting the parameter in our proposed algorithm.
