Abstract
The electrophoretic motion of colloid particles related to a plane is not well
understood, this is because of its complex geometry and the couplized governing
equations. The author discussed the electrophoretic motion of a spherical particle
normal to a plane in previous study, and obtained some interesting results.
In present work, the author attempted to extend the previous spherical case to a
long cylindrical particle, a more general case. We propose here an approach to solve
the couplized equations accompany with bipolar cylindrical coordinate and
pseudo-spectral method to study this problem. Some primary result is also presented
in this report.
