Abstract
Since its publication, Hotelling (1929) has been widely cited in literature. Even nowadays, there are many economists using the Hotelling model to discuss problems related to spatial price competition, optimal plant location and optimal product attributes etc. In this paper, we introduce the basic model, review the relevant literature and apply the model to help give answers to some political, legal and social problems.
