Abstract
This article demonstrates a novel reconfigurable metasurface antenna designed at 13GHz based on a Partial Reflective Surface antenna and a reconfigurable metasurface with varactor as a spatial phase shifter. As a proof of concept, the main beam was steered to -18°, -28°, and -42° in one plane. The gain of PRS antenna without the reconfigurable metasurface is 16.0 dBi, and gain drop performance in these scanning range are below 3 dB. This work provides a useful references for designing a compact size reconfigurable metasurface antenna
