Abstract
A university library is both a collegiate library and a research library. The primary goal of an American university library is to support the instructional and research programs of it's parent institution. In order to achieve the mission , American university librarians are very much concerned about their performance of services. The purpose of this article is trying to find out some possible elements which formulate the American university librarians' service concept.
