Abstract
The loss of motor function of limbs will
cause severe impairment of daily activity. In
classical rehabilitation program, the
outcomes of the spinal cord injury (SCI)
patients are determined by the residual motor
function. Neural prosthesis, which replaced
the functions of damage neural system, could
restore the motor functions which could not
be done in classical program. Therefore,
using neural prosthesis to restore the abilities
for activities of daily living is one of the
major therapeutic methods in rehabilitation.
The aim of this study is to develop the kernel
of neural prosthesis-the neuromuscular
stimulator. The goals of this project were to
design the stimulators and to provide them to
other subprojects. Now the goals were
completed as proposed.
