Abstract
This paper is intended as an investigation of characteristic of errors in oral Japanese of ten Japanese-Chinese bilingual children whose parents are Japanese-Taiwanese international married couples. OBC is used to collect data and the result shows that most of the grammatical errors are use of particles, verbs, auxiliary verbs, and making complex sentences. Some tasks which informants rarely experience in their daily life seem to be quite hard to achieve. Interference of Chinese are found both in nouns and verbs, most of which are caused by difference of range of meaning between Japanese and Chinese. As a whole, errors made in their oral Japanese are dependent on person, and understanding of each child’s language proficiency as well as their personality and lifestyle environment is needed to support their acquisition of Japanese.
