Abstract
We read with great interest the article by Vandenberghe et al. [1] regarding the incidence, characteristics, and outcomes of uterine rupture in unscarred uteri. The study provides significant insights into risk factors such as grand multiparity, uterotonics, instrumental delivery, and congenital uterine anomalies, among others. Consistent with Vandenberghe et al.'s findings, common symptoms included severe abdominal pain and abnormal cardiotocography. Maternal outcomes in our cases involved blood transfusions and ICU admissions, while neonatal outcomes were dire, including NICU admissions, low Apgar scores, and one perinatal death. These cases highlight the multifactorial nature of uterine rupture in unscarred uteri, emphasising the need for C, particularly during labour induction. Further investigation into less common risk factors, such as cervical cerclage and hysteroscopic procedures, could inform preventive strategies.
