Abstract
Prefabricated bone graft was created on inbred rats by transferring tibia from a donor into the recipient lower limb with saphenous vessels . Sixty rats were divided into: 1.Non-flow through type: the distal ends were ligated and 2.Flow through type: the vessels were kept patent. Each group is divided into: 1.With the supplement of bone marrow 2. Without supplement. The osteocyte count, degree of neovascularization and new bone formation by tetracycline labelling were evaluated. Our results revealed that vascularized bone graft can be created in this model Non-flow through type is superior to the flow through type in terms of its rapidity in neovascularization and new bone formation. But there is no significant differences between groups with bone marrow supplement and without.
