Abstract
In this thesis, the frequency response characteristics of the coupling
coefficients associated with microstrip hairpin resonators of bandpass
filters are carefully examined. The models based in impedance and
admittance inverters are derived for discussing these characteristics. The
locations of transmission zeros can be adjusted by varying the couplings
of two cross-coupled paths so as to improve the drift in transmission
zeros. Finally, four-pole and six-pole quasi-elliptic function filters of this
type are designed and fabricated. Both the theoretical and experimental
performances are presented.
