Abstract
A low-level indophenol blue method has
been developed for the determination of
ammonia in the sub-surface layer in open
ocean. Laboratory test showed that the
method is capable of measuring ammonia at
0.02 uM level. On-board measurement
indicated that a small maximum signal of
less than 0.1 uM ammonia was observed at
ca. 60 m in the South China Sea.
