Abstract
The continuous phases separation is an important step in the downstream purification process of chemical and pharmaceutical factories. However the current separators, are not able to deal with low surface tension liquids. To tackle this issue, we propose a new method for separating two-phase liquids using a stretchable helix wire to manipulate the interfacial Laplace pressure. Low surface tension organic-water immiscible liquids were tested.
