Abstract
With consumer demand changing, product life cycle reducing, business compliance coming to be serious, the products OEM/ODM manufacturers of Taiwan information manufacturing industry are facing lots challenges. The first one challenge is severe price competition at home and abroad, and second one is they have to take multiple regional R&D and factory management pressure. These two driven them to improve the management of product cycle, improve the efficiency to overcome the challenge. And all this make the PLM system become more and more important to the company, and the PLM system has to be a company requirement rather than an option choice for the information infrastructure nowadays.
What is PLM application value? In the functional and performance extension perspective, its application is not only a data management and standard processing, but also a necessary platform for internal innovation implement. With the PLM application, PLM system becomes a strategic development to the company. Under company whole structure, It could work with research and HR resources to complete important standard process, and it would be helpful to achieve sales proposal and customer value.
When setting PLM system, a fully, carefully pre-plan for system implementation is the most important basement of the proposal. And this thesis will make a summary of the implementation key factors for manufacturer of Taiwan information manufacturing industry. These critical success factors : to driven by company long-term strategic objectives, to become a pre-alert function of facing external conditions and compliance, to reference to customer needs and becoming a flexible restrictions, and to integrate internal change management to be the promoted plan activity.
Above 4 factors balance the long and short term goals of PLM system, and consolidate both internal and external customer needs. They also ensure the process and the results of system implementation plan, and truly make it to keep a positive effectiveness.
