Abstract
A dielectrophoresis (DEP)-based particle transporter is designed and implemented on a printed circuit board (PCB).
A DEP force appears between a pair of electrodes with opposite phases,
and a travelling-wave dielectrophoresis (twDEP) field is created along an array of electrodes carrying a travelling wave.
Both types of electric fields and asociated force fields are simulated.
Spherical polystyrene particles are immersed in salt water to test the function of this transporter.
The measurement results match reasonably well with theoretical prediction.
