Abstract
This thesis explores the space-time--“the region ”, observes during Late Ming Dynasty elite &intelligentsia in Suzhou depend on self-approval region consciousness. Starts from Wang Ao(王鏊) " GU-SU-ZHI (姑蘇志) ", to Wang Zhi-Deng(王穉登) " GUO-CHAO-WU-JUN-DAN-QING-ZHI (國朝吳郡丹青志)", with the 17th century Wen Zhen-Heng (文震亨)" ZHANG-WU-ZHI(長物志) ", the Suzhou elite &intelligentsia all unceasing self-reminded to proclaim:“Suzhou ''s culture is the top of the nation.”
The Late Ming Dynasty in Suzhou area was the satage of Wumen Art school(吳派) especially in Wen Zhengming''s time. After Wen Zhengming passed away, Dong Qi-chang (董其昌)Leaded Song-Jiang Art school(松江派)into “Integration” in the 17th century.Dong Qi-chang cognition that no promoting the self-region style altitude , no surmounting Wumen Art school in calligraphy and painting art.
Wang Zhi-Deng,the most famous “recluse” in Suzhou area,and the leader in Wumen Art school during the Late Ming Dynasty .His calligraphy and feat of art spreaded out Wumen Art school in the Late Ming Dynasty still occupied the leader status of art.
