Abstract
When talking about LGBT movement in Asia, Taiwan stands out as pioneer among peer countries. Western media praise Taiwan for its protection of LGBT rights, while there’s something more delicate which local LGBT activists are undergoing. This in-depth reporting focuses on recent developments of Taiwan’s LGBT movement which is switching audience from the government to citizens after a strong counterforce, “Taiwan Religious-groups Family Protection Alliance,” forming since late 2013. Through sketching Taiwan’s LGBT activists on political, educational and cultural field, this in-depth reporting points out a different viewpoint understanding the meaning and impact of Taiwan’s LGBT movement.
