Abstract
Quality of service in networks becomes more and more important as communication technologies develops, particularly in disaster management since it does matter to life and death. However, as time progresses, works about transmission with timeliness are still a challenge to be applied to new network architectures. We purposed a time-sensitive message delivery mechanism in this work, which take advantage of the features of named data networking (NDN), including flexible routing path selection and temporary data caching, to support large-scale distributed systems. Also, with a distributed transmission time computation method we purposed in this work and NDN, we are able to distribute the loads from servers to networks. Meanwhile, we prioritize messages based on their deadlines, and store messages in multilevel queue. We also implemented traffic shaping in this work. With this mechanism, a message delivery system used to deliver time-sensitive messages, and thus provides better quality of service.
