Abstract
This research was carried out to understand the motivational factors of employees of non-profit organizations in Palau. While carrying out this research, primary data was collected using a qualitative method (interviews) and compared and analyzed with theories and studies, which have been done on organizational behavior. Upon realization, most employees though belonging to different non-profit organizations did not stay within the organization for extrinsic motivation but for the intrinsic motivation. Most have fulfilled their basic needs in life and desire for something of value that each of the employees lacked. This shows that employees of non-profit organizations are like most employees of larger profit corporations who fulfill the basic needs of life (getting a salary support to themselves and their family and attaining wants and needs in life). However, employees of non-profit organizations are motivated to go above and beyond to help others for their joy of satisfaction.
