Abstract
After the third loop of 345KV transmission line and Independent power plant (IPP) generation plants are joint operation of Tai wan power system, the characteristics of Taiwan power system will become very different from those of the previous system. At different operation point, the power system has its inherent natural frequency and eigenvalue, which determining the response behavior after the system is suffered any form of perturbation. This thesis will examine the power system stabilizer (PSS) parameter values on the generators which already installed PSS of IPP generation plants, and via adjusting the above parameter values, in order to improve dynamic characteristic of the generators.
Therefore, the objective of this project is first to conduct peak-load and off-peak load power system analysis for the year of 2007 and 2009, examine the PSS parameter values on generators which belong to IPP companys, and to study the suitable PSS parameter values. This thesis will use the frequency domain and time domain analysis program to analysis the small signal stability of the Taiwan power system under each different operation condition, and propose the suitable PSS parameter values to enhance the Taiwan power system stability. Final this thesis will analysis the situation of over compensation and under compensation.
