Abstract
Novel poly(3-nonylthiophene)/titania hybrid was synthesized from triethoxysilane-containing poly(3-nonythiophene). This material was characterized with gel permeation chromatography (GPC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The characterization demonstrated that the presence of triethoxysilane groups significantly influence the size of TiO 2 formed and its distribution inside the polymer matrix, as well as the PL intensity of the hybrid film. © 2005 Elsevier B.V.
