Abstract
According to current consensus, surgery is the only known cure for functioning and non-functioning pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (P-NETs) and the role of endoscopic ablation for P-NETs is still uncertain. However, the choice of surgery or observation for small (<2 cm), asymptomatic, low-grade (G1) sporadic P-NETs remains controversial. Considering the efficient tumor ablation and low adverse event rates of EUS-guided ethanol injection (EUS-EI), EUS-EI appears as an alternative treatment of P-NETs for these patients or patients unfit for surgery due to high-risk comorbidity or refuse surgical resection.
