Abstract
As a novel chemical process equipment, rotating packed bed (RPB) can greatly intensify mass transfer. RPB enhances mass transfer by high centrifugal field instead of gravity, which has been substantially applied in chemical separation, energy and environmental protection.
Compared with the traditional mass transfer equipment, it has many remarkable advantages especially the high efficiency. This research mainly investigated the stripping of oxygen in sucrose solution in a RPB.
Various factors affect dissolved oxygen (DO) and overall volumetric mass transfer coefficient(KLa) were investigated, such as rotating speed, gas flow rate, liquid flow rate and sucrose concentration.
