Abstract
CDMA has been proven to be one of the promising mainstream multiaccessing techniques in future cellular mobile communication systems. It is offering attractions such as soft capacity, soft handoff, and antimultipathing. A quality-based birth-and-death queueing model is developed for the purpose of evaluating the performance of a CDMA cellular that supports two-rate transmissions.
