Abstract
Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) resulted in
trauma or vascular malfunction will cause the
paralysis of extremities and trunk, whose
motor function and independence are
impaired according to its level and severity.
Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES)
could restore the motor function of SCI
patients with the controlled electrical
neuromuscular stimulation and be thought as
a useful rehabilitation utility in developed
countries. We believe that the FES is
valuable whatever for the motor function
restoration and independence of SCI patients,
the reduction of medical requirements, and
the localization of high-value medical
industries in Taiwan.
Now this project, which contained 7
subprojects, achieved the desired goals of
first year.
