Abstract
'Milia en plaque' is a rare disease entity with unclear pathogenesis but distinctive histopathology. No more than 30 cases have been recorded in the world's literature. Most of them occurred in the peri-auricular area. There were no optimal treatments. We describe a 65-year-old man with a flesh-colored plaque embedded with tiny globoid cysts on his left cheek, which developed in one year. Combined its clinical and histopathological findings, we concluded it as milia en plaque and treated it with 3-month oral minocycline. Almost complete regression was gained. This experience again provided the information that oral minocycline appears to be an effective and inexpensive method in treating the milia en plaque.
