Abstract
Due to the broadcasting nature of wireless transmission, the cochannel interference in heterogeneous networks among the cells can be a potential limiting factor in system design. To overcome this limitation, many interference mitigation techniques for femto-cells have been proposed, which mainly focus on power control and spectrum allocation. In this thesis, through the technique of dirty-paper coding, we
propose the interference cancellation (IC) method for femto-cells. The simulations show that the proposed method can further apply to reduce the bit error rate (BER) and increase the throughput. Both the significant performance improvements and backward compatibility implies the proposed method has immediate potential in
3GPP systems.
