Abstract
In this paper, we present the antenna-in-package (AiP) design of a one-dimensional (1-D) linear array of antennas at 28 and 39GHz of millimeter wave (mmW) frequencies. This array consists of four elements implemented along the edge of an AiP module, where the central area is used to implement an array for boresight radiation. The integration of these two antenna sets will provide full angular range coverage. This AiP configuration shall be implemented on a corner area of an UE handset to provide a end-fire beam scan. Thus, this 1-D array is implemented in an Lshape configuration along two adjacent outer perpendicular edges of the AiP module to radiate electromagnetic (EM) waves with a polarization parallel to the edge directions. © 2020 IEEE.
