Abstract
We report a method of sample preparation of thallium containing superconducting oxide system and the effects of subsequent heat treatment on superconducting properties of the compounds with the nominal composition TlCa 3 BaCu 3 O y , Tl 2 CaBa 2 Cu 2 O y and Tl 2 Ca 2 Ba 2 Cu 3 O y . Zero resistance at 123 K and the onset of superconductivity around 155 K have been achieved. In this paper, the optimum processing variables and the X-ray diffraction results are discussed.
