Abstract
Techniques of GIS combine with database
and analysis models are well developed, we can
use them to provide important information to our
government for driving construction or to
deliberate relative policy. In this project, we
will constructing the database of geography,
traffic, building, public facilities, population,
economic, river cross-section, hydrologic station,
reservoir, bridge, levee, pumping station and gate
etc., and combine with hydrological, hydraulic
and flood-damage estimation models by GIS
technique, to build up decision support system.
It is helpful to evaluate flood mitigation projects.
This project will establish the decision
support system for the Impacts of Downstream
Inundations due to Reservoir Releases, and
applying its to the Tsenwen Creek watershed
within three years. In the process of researching
and developing, we will consider the four stages
demands: mitigation, preparedness, response and
recovery, to operate in coordination with practical
business, collecting database and analysis models,
and then establish practical decision support
system, to spread the achievements, and applied
in relative departments.
