Abstract
Personal data are important information on the Internet, service providers can provide different kinds of service to various individuals. However, we don’t have any protection on the personal data on the Internet, it causes many problems, for example, email spamming. We adopt an Online Personal Data License framework which can help us take control back and provide auditing mechanism. This thesis put the negotiation into the licensing process which eliminates the gap between the proposals from the service and user’s preference settings.
We don’t adopt the traditional rule-based preference setting, instead we develop a credit-based setting. User ranks his/her preference, not specifies the acceptable rules. Data request in proposal will need certain credit,. If the credit exceeds user’s incentive credit, this negotiation will fail. This thesis provides a simpler., more flexible, and visualization way for users to set their preference and protect the preference from being probing during negotiation
